There's no doubt that Ad-Aware Total Security is an all-around program. With comprehensive virus scanning, a firewall, web protection and even email scanning, it is designed to take full responsibility for protecting your computer from threats.
Visually, Ad-Aware Total Security has taken an interesting approach - it's easy on the eyes, but it's not necessarily easy to use. The settings and configuration options are extensive, and there are plenty of little options that make using the software easier, such as the ability to pause scans in times of high load, good scheduling functions and a boot scan function.
Despite a good start, Ad-Aware Total Security nevertheless revealed some problems. The installation process is long, requires other software to be removed, and a restart. The interface can be difficult to negotiate, and scans were very slow - even when the quick option was enabled.
We wanted to like Ad-Aware Total Security, but slow scans and a strange interface held us back.
